About the Hotel
Iberostar Waves Paraíso del Mar is an all-inclusive family beach hotel in the Riviera Maya. The colonial-style complex has a 1,000-meter-long pool, one of the largest in the destination. Other facilities include an 18-hole golf course, a PADI dive center and a spa. The restaurants serve international buffets, Mexican food, grilled meat and Mediterranean dishes.
This hotel offers a wide variety of activities and rooms for all types of events. Children can have fun with Star Camp activities, developed based on different types of intelligence and divided into three age categories, while adults can spend a night in the nightclub. All 388 rooms and suites have a balcony or terrace and a minibar. There are oceanfront suites. Free access is provided to the facilities and restaurants of the sister hotel Iberostar Paraíso Beach, located next door. A small train connects the different areas of the resort.
The complex is located in Playa Paraiso. The Dolphin Discovery swimming park is 8 kilometers away in Punta Maroma. The town of Puerto Morelos is 16 kilometers away and Playa del Carmen is 21 kilometers away. Cancun International Airport (CUN) is 36 kilometers away.
***The reservation holder must show official photo identification.
***As of April 1, 2026, it will be mandatory to show the CURP at check-in for all guests with Mexican nationality.
***By order of the local government, the hotel will charge a mandatory room tax per night, applicable to guests over 12 years old, to be paid directly at the property: 1 guest $35.19 MXN; 2 guests $58.65 MXN; 3 guests $76.25 MXN; 4 or more guests $87.98 MXN.
***Group Policy for students. The hotel considers student groups to be guests between 16 and 23 years of age traveling together. Requests from student and youth groups will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis and require prior approval by the hotel before being confirmed. The minimum age to check in at hotels is 18 years old. To register, at least one adult aged 25 or over is required per room, who will assume full responsibility for the students' behavior. This companion must be the parent or legal guardian or, in the case of a third party, must submit legal documentation duly signed by the parents or legal guardians. If any guest behaves inappropriately, disrespects the hotel staff and/or other guests, or causes physical damage to the facilities, the Hotel Management reserves the right to expel such guest without refund or return of the remaining nights. In addition, you must cover expenses for physical damage to facilities, staff and/or guests. Access to the hotel's nightclub is provided to guests over 18 years old. The legal drinking age in Mexico, Jamaica, Brazil and the Dominican Republic is 18. Alcoholic beverages are available to all guests over 18 years of age.
***Conditions for individual bookings and student groups. Individual and group bookings must leave a refundable deposit of $200.00 USD per room upon check-in for any charge, damage, unpaid expense, loss or fine that customers incur or are responsible for during their stay. If the damages exceed the deposit of $200.00 USD per room, the full amount of the damage will be charged to the guest's room and will be paid upon departure. If no damage is incurred, the deposit will be refunded to the customer. Underage Policy: All customers under 18 will receive a bracelet in an easily identifiable color. In the event of damage, alteration or misuse of said bracelet, the guardian responsible for the minor must pay a penalty of $450.00 USD or its equivalent in the national currency at the current exchange rate. The Hotel Management reserves the right to expel any guest who alters or violates the policies of Iberostar Hotels and Resorts without a refund or return of the remaining nights, or to call the local authorities if necessary.
***Spring Break Policy. Iberostar Hotels & Resorts does not accept anyone who is part of a Spring Break group (neither group nor individual) at any property and during any time of the year. Spring Break vacations are defined as those granted from high school to college-age individuals who make reservations together either as individual or group bookings. Groups without parents or companions over 25 years of age are not allowed. Iberostar Hotels & Resorts reserves the right to deny check-in to any group or individual that can be defined as part of a Spring Break group.
***Infants (0 - 2.99 years old): Infants stay free and do not affect the maximum occupancy of the room; however, the minimum contractual occupancy rate of the room will always be charged.
***Cribs: Subject to availability. Prior written notification to the hotel's Reservations Department is required.
***Exclusive honeymoon benefits for newlyweds: Bottle of sparkling wine and special Iberostar service; 10% discount on Spa services (prior reservation required; cannot be combined with other offers); Upgrading to the next room category (subject to availability); and daily Turndown Service. Requirement: Guests must present a marriage certificate (valid within 6 months of the wedding date) upon check-in.
***A minimum of 10 rooms or 20 passengers is considered a group. All groups are subject to request (“on request”) and require a specific contract.
